Take a glimpse at the lives of ordinary Ukrainians through a unique architectural phenomenon: DIY balconies. This photo book tells the origin story of these balconies—in short, a product of unregulated space—and documents them in all their eclectic glory: beautiful, bizarre, ugly, plexiglass and plastic, painted wood, traditional, modern, junk-filled, bare skeletons, and hanging gardens. Each balcony is unique, just like its owner. Most photos taken in the years 2017–2019. The second edition contains images taken between 2022 and 2024.
